Some Food For Thought.

Perhaps the Armed Forces are a bit too harsh for the 'softies' produced by today's 'graduate churning colleges'. What is needed is more grit, determination and will to face tremendous odds-qualities sadly lacking in today's youth. (The spate of suicides by young students on flimsy grounds).

An organisation which still can teach people to lead men in battle and if need be to their death does not need lessons in man-management from an armchair 'leader'.

If risk taking is the hallmark of an 'exponential' individual, then who takes the greater risk-one who risks his job/profits or one who risks losing his life/limb.

If 'decision making' is the hallmark of an 'exponential' individual, then try taking a decision which you know will cause the death of some and injury to a large segment of your command.

To all this add a debilitating aspect - compensation is not linked to results and responsibilities!

Perhaps you need to revisit your hypothesis about what is incremental and what is exponential.
